CE 4.29

I’d promise to do better updating this blog…but that’s a lot, right. I do have another blog that I write more regularly about everything. I wanted this one to not purely be a mirror of that. While it would be easy it might also be boring unless I promoted them to two different sets of people. Ah, well.

I bought a lot of supplies yesterday, comparatively. About $50 including shipping…that’s a lot for me. I’d had a job for a month and was so excited to spend the money getting supplies I’ve longed for for a dog’s age it seems. New things are happening at elpy. I’m also looking to register a domain and buy an ad spot in an indie online mag. I may end up with a blog ad instead…shall see.

I’m going to try to be more serious about my art and my life. I want to really pursue things, learn new techniques, be more confident.

The title CE is for Current Events, what’s happening at the moment in my creative walk. I’ll probably use it again. Dated titles are something that I use often on my other blog so I’m carrying it over here.

My shop had been feeling stagnant. I wanted a new banner, and was contemplating a name change and opening a second shop for paper goods. (Don’t have the paper good inventory yet, but it’s a deep-seated thought.) ‘LP by rJax’ was weird to say aloud and the ‘lp’ had lost its meaning when I changed from “LPdesigns’.

So now, to match my email address, the shop is ‘elpy’, the semi-phonetic spelling of ‘LP’. I kept the ‘A Handcrafted Brand’ tagline. It still fits. I made that new banner. I’m getting banner making, I think. I’ll probably tweak it a little more. Now I have to find all the places on the interwebs where I’ve put that name, and change it ‘elpy’.

I had been venting the other day on here, about Etsy and life. I didn’t realize that I got two comments on that post. This is what one of the them said:

Oh! Don’t despair! I go through the same thing with my shops! I go through weeks where there is NOTHING and then I will get a few sales. I think your macrame earrings are really cool looking. I will do a post on them and try and get you some more traffic!!

I bought these on Ebay for a great price after doing alooooot of looking around. I’m so happy. I’m going to use them for a new grand idea that I’ve had for a while. It’s kinda burning a hole in my brain…I just want to try to make them. (More jewelry. There can never be enough.) I don’t have the rest of the supplies, though…like the metal to punch them with.

These are 1/8″. They’re smaller than I thought. They look like toys, but they’re heavy. I can’t wait to use them.
